How much spending money for British Isles?
Depends what you intend to do. You will need money for your accommodation (you could pay for this before you come) and money for food (say £20 per day if eating out a lot) and for travel. Trains and buses are cheap in and around London. Travelling in Dublin is cheap on the bus (there is no tube there), but longer distances may make taxis more sensible. You would be looking at €20 across the city, about £15. If you plan in advance you can work out roughly what you need. Remember to include extra if you want to shop for gifts or souvenirs, which are very expensive here in my view.
If you are flying London to Dublin, get a flight with one of the budget airlines well in advance to get the lowest fare. It is only a short flight so paying big money is pointless.
If you intend to get the ferry, you need a train to Holyhead, in North Wales, and a ferry to Dublin or Dun Loaghaire. You can get a combined rail and ferry ticket to save money. Trains are expensive in the UK, so I think a flight could be far cheaper, but the train and ferry allow you to see much more of the country.
