Is raleigh NC a safe place to live?

Yes, it is!! I even leave my doors unlocked whether i am home or not! I have a friend that moved here from California. He said raising his young son here is like growing up in the 50's. I don't think there are many places you can say that about. I have lived in 4 states, CA, WA, NY and NC. As far as day to day living I think that NC is the easiest place to be.
